Rowing Machine Benefits & Advantages Of The Concept 2
The Concept 2 rower is quiet and replicates the smooth feeling of rowing on water, thanks to the air flywheel which makes it similar to the genuine rowing activity. The set up of the rower is based on a sturdy chain resistance method, which is not only effective, but extremely hard wearing. It is not uncommon for a Concept 2 machine to be used day in, day out for thousands (perhaps millions) of kilometres rowed by people of all shapes, sizes and standards, and still to never break down. It really is a very robust machine indeed.
There are cheaper rowing machines available than the Concept 2, but you will be hard pushed to find one that lasts as long, and therefore gives you an excellent “bang for your buck” and great rowing machine benefits over a period of years.

As long as you use this machine regularly it pays for itself in no time. Don’t buy it if you are just going to stick it in the garage and forget about it though!
Thanks for the comment Randall. It is wise that you test out the Concept2 before you buy to make sure you like it. Make an exercise plan and stick to it, that way this machine will easily pay for itself. Plus the resale value for second hand concepts is excellent too, meaning you should be able to get a decent amount of money back in 5 or 10 years time if you decide to sell.
I have used the concept 2 at the gym for a couple of years now. I think its better even than the waterrower. Both are good machines though.
Hi Draven. We’ve used both machines for years. The waterrower looks great, even as a piece of furniture and can be stood up to save space. A great rower, but in our opinion the Concept2 (although not quite as pretty a piece of furniture!) is a slightly hardier and more accurate rower. Personal choice though as with everything!
Many thanks for this information, as well as the cheap link to buy the concept 2. Its a little pricey to buy, but I have been told that these machines last forever!
Thanks Rich. Even many old Concept2 models going back 10 & 15 years are still working fine. We would usually recommend a second hand Concept 2 as opposed to many brand new alternative machines. Plus if you go for something like the D model you will get it around $400 less than the latest model (which is basically the same, but with a few extra bells and whistles!). Regards
